It’s almost as if their party platform and self-identity are based on the following conflicting ideas:
“I should be able to do whatever I want.” “You should be able to do whatever you want as long as I happen to approve (and you’re white).” “The government should stay out of my life as much as possible.” “The government should enforce my moral preferences on everyone else.” “My tax dollars shouldn’t go toward supporting the lives and health of others.” “Everyone’s tax dollars should go toward my favorite government programs, like police departments, highway infrastructure, immigration enforcement, prisons, etc...” “Freedom of speech should allow me to voice my views with impunity within private platforms like Twitter & Facebook.” “Any protest, peaceful or otherwise, which happens to criticize conservative policies enforced by the US government should be considered unpatriotic and perhaps even treasonous.”

And they also mock people who care enough to pick up the trash whether they be volunteers or prisoners.
