When I was in grade 4, my best friend invited the new kid (new to the country, challenges with our language) to hang with us.

I remember feeling slightly annoyed for a short period. Over time, I realized that my buddy was the hero we should all be. Our new friend became a great one.

I'll never forget it.

In highscool my mom did this, I had two friends sit with me. One was more like an acquaintance at the time, but we shared the same birthday. I made my mom bring two cupcakes with two candles for us, and I like to think it was something positive in his life. He didn’t have a great home life and a few years later he tragically passed away.

It’s so important to always spread kindness.

Edit: Who knew a simple memory could be so controversial for some

When I was in year 8 (8th grade), we were in an IT class learning about Excel. We had to get our friends addresses and phone numbers and put them into the spreadsheet. I didn't have any friends in that class (or many friends at all), and basically sat there looking around.

This one guy, James, obviously saw me sitting there and called out "hey [queefer_sutherland92], what's your address??" I told him, and he goes "no way, that's the same street as Will's! Will come show [queefer] your address."

We weren't friends, but honest to god it was one of the kindest things that anyone has ever done for me.
