This is truly a disgrace. Years ago, the IRS audited my parents and told them that they owed $65,000 in taxes. We later found out that my identity had been stolen and the thieves had been reporting income with my social security number, while my parents were still claiming me. My parents have had multiple bank accounts drained by the IRS (right before Christmas one year), are not eligible to receive any income tax checks, and are still battling countless other actions placed upon them that are affecting them to this day, even after it has been proven that the audit was made in error. This is truly disgusting to read. It makes me even sicker to see people defend this as being “smart” when families like mine have suffered for years all the while people like Pussyboi in Chief game the system with no ramifications.
