Hope that hasn't been posted before. "Water" at popular Instagram location in Bali is actually an optical illusion. It's a piece of glass under an iPhone.

I've seen this picture 15,000 times and had no idea that wasn't actually water.

I've been here, it's great. There was a huge line up when I waited but it was so worth it for the picture. The guys sit there in the sun all day, and set up the picture just right. You don't have to pay them, you can do the pictures yourself. But I'd rather with the guys, they've been doing it a long time and line up the reflection perfect and quick. They do your pictures and then onto the next person, takes five minutes at the most. When I was there, a travel blogger was there with her boyfriend. No joke they set up a tripod and hung out for twenty minutes getting a ridiculous amount of pictures.

You also have to pay the fee for the little trucks that take you up and down the mountain, but I think it was only 15k IDR, which is like, nothing, especially if you're coming from somewhere like Australia/America/England. It's literally $1.50AUD. I mean, maybe it was more. But the people in Bali are lovely people, and they get fucked around a lot by drunk tourists. The least you could do is give back to their economy.

It still looks cool even without the mirror lol, but I can see why it has an appeal to it to have the piece of glass.

It's crazy how Instagram has blown up the tourism industry, both good and bad things have come about.
