I think TROS didn’t do a good job explaining how much time had passed. It’s mentioned briefly but I think it needed to be emphasized more to highlight Reys training.

It’s also possible force healing was a forgotten technique among the Jedi until like found the original Jedi texts in his hunt to learn more about the Jedi.

I think the problem people had with Rey is that she could do everything, perfectly, the first time she tried it even when it seemed she had no training. She never actually lost a single fight and she made no personal sacrifices. She had no relatable flaws which made her hard to connect with.

I have mixed feelings about force healing in new canon. In the eu, force healing is only speeding up natural regeneration power. But of course it can't heal mortal wound from lightsaber.
