I leave video and voice messages in my daughter's google storage quite often. Every big event in her life, birthday or sometimes randomly, I say something unique or simply repeat what I already told her in person. I got the idea from a post on here a few years ago and now she's got 30 messages. I hope I'm around to see her grow old and help her through any difficulty times ahead, but if i'm not, my lame dad jokes, constant praise and occasional apologies will be there for her.
I can empathize. I have a uild-A-Bear from my fiancee before her stroke (and thus before she lost her voice), and were it ever stolen, I'd be willing to let the thief shoot me to give it back to me. A lover's voice means a lot.

Most likely the thief stole the iPad and ditched everything else in the trash before this would have been posted.
