I worked with her on Neverwas - horrible movie with the most amazing cast. I’ll spare you but it’s essentially about a guy that wrote the “Harry Potter” of the 70s featuring his son who grows up to work in the asylum his dad lived in. Brittany was his sons friend who grows up to be a reporter. The real world and book world begin to converge and blah blah. I illustrated the book in the movie and did 2nd unit AD (sets, props, etc). It was my first and last Hollywood gig.
She was kind, and genuinely sweet. I was up for 36 hours turning one of Nick Nolte’s houses in Zuma into a set. I was hopped up on red bull and espresso and she and I did shots together. I promised to send her the painting of her character from the book but kept forgetting. I had it wrapped up in my car when I learned of her passing. I kept it in my car for like, 3 months after cuz it just felt like such a shock.
She truly made me feel like a person in an industry that tends to dehumanize you.
I miss her
EDIT: Her character in the book was kind of an angel/savior to the boy. I gave her the Clara Bow “Cupid lips”. When I told her that her eyes got HUGE like I’d just read her fortune and she told me she’d always identified with Clara Bow.

Such a good actress, sucks what happened to her.
Edit: she died from pneumonia. Not drugs.
