While I agree with the sentiment, I honestly believe it is because many conservatives see life as a zero sum game. If someone, some minority gets something, it necessarily means that some white guy gets less.

Although I agree, I've encountered some people on reddit who genuinely believe that racism against white people isn't an actual thing.
