Shakira Baksh was the 1967 Miss Guyana and went on to become a runner-up at the Miss World 1967 pageant. She married Michael Caine in 1973.
Edit: apparently, they met after Caine saw her in a Maxwell House coffee commercial. A friend gave him her number. He called her every day for ten days until she finally agreed to meet him.
After his mother died (if I remember right?), he found out he had an older sister who his parents had never mentioned & he didn't know about. She had severe mental problems and their mother had visited her weekly for decades.
His mum thought he knew about her when he took his 'acting' union name of "Michael Caine", because by incredible coincidence, his sister was in the Cain Institute.
For the rest of her life, he paid for the sister he hadn't known about to live the best life she could.
