I don't get how they typed that out and, looking at the words on the page, still said "It's not torture". That sounds excruciating. And they weren't even really doing it.
The late Christopher Hitchens was a vocal supporter of this technique back in the Bush torture years, and sought to prove that it wasn't torture by being waterboarded himself. The procedure was conducted by professionals and as you can see, it lasted only a few seconds before he tapped out and declared that he had been wrong and that it was definitely torture.
As you may recall, Hitchens was not one to bullshit or mince words. He had his viewpoint changed by the experience.
