I often get asked if people can use my images as wallpapers for their phones. So here's a collection of space themed wallpapers cropped from images I have taken over the last few years [OC]

Google Drive link to freely download the full collection of 18 images (85MB). It's not an instant download link, it will take you to a folder where you can download all or a selection of the wallpapers.

All of the images were taken by myself over the last few years in and around my home state of Western Australia. Most of them were taken on fairly modest equipment - Nikon d5500 camera, 35mm, 50mm or 85mm prime lenses with a Hoya didymium filter and an iOptron SkyTracker mount. They're all multi shot panoramas, usually 50+ shots, stitched in freeware called MS ICE.

This technique results in much greater detail, colour and clarity than a single shot wide angle lens is capable of producing but it can take ages to shoot, upwards of 90 minutes. Yes, the Milky Way moves across the sky during the shoot but that's taken into account by the stitching software.

All of the images are cropped to 16:9 format which is the standard aspect ratio for most mobile/cell phones. The resolutions vary but most are around 2000-3000 pixels high.

My instagram is trevordobson_astro if you want to check out some of my other astrophotography stuff.

Living in a completely urbanised little island country, it is low-key one of my life goals to see the Milky Way with the naked eye.

I travel to Perth occasionally. Can you advise on how to achieve my goal?
