All of my classes moving to online from offline had the teachers cutting huge swaths of content along with many of the required projects.

If anything i'd say this will make people depreciate any online class even more, as the ones people are taking now have become much easier than what they were doing before.

(I know I only really know my own case, and I am not intending to depreciate the value of someones degree. Just putting the other perspective here.)

When it comes to whether I make fun of an online degree or not, its all about WHICH school its from.

When somebody says “online degree”, I don’t look at it unfavorably just because it’s online. As long as the accreditation of the school is there, then what you’ve learned on a screen and what somebody else learned in a class will be the same. You’re degree doesn’t mean less just because the venue is different. I’m all about technically getting an MIT degree because practically all of their courses are online (see: MIT Open Courseware).

It’s when I see degrees from Kaplan, Everest, University of Phoenix, etc. where I’ll say that it’s not a “real degree”.
