I remember exactly where I was when I saw that. Me and my brother were both in high school and had rooms next to each other. Apparently, we had both been watching that highlight at the same time on Fox Sports.
When that ball exploded that bird, he and I both jumped up, ran out our rooms, and met each other in the hall way. The exchange went like this:
Him: "holy fuckin shit! He hit the..."
Me: "I know!"
Him: "were you just watching...."
Me: "Yeah!"
Him: "let's fuckin go!"
We both ran down the hall to the living room and yelled at the same time at our dad, "PUT IN ON CHANNEL 36! PUT IN ON CHANNEL 36!"
That poor bird really brought our family closer together that night.
