Family, friends of slain postal worker to gather for drive-thru funeral Sunday
GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — Family and friends will pay their respects to an Indianapolis postal worker Sunday who was shot and killed while working her route in April.
The funeral for Angela Summers will take place in Greenwood Sunday afternoon from 2-4. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Summers’ family is having a tent drive-thru service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Family, friends, coworkers and community members will remain in their vehicles and can stop briefly to pay their respects. The service will not be livestreamed.
Police say Summers was shot April 27, after a dispute with a homeowner in the 400 block of Denny Street.
Federal charges were later filed against Tony Cushingberry-Mays, 21, in the fatal shooting. He is charged with second-degree murder; assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers or employees; and discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.
Summers had been a letter carrier in Indianapolis for almost two years. She was 45 years old, the Marion County Coroner’s Office said.

As a family member of a USPS mail carrier, every time I read these types of stories it fucking pisses me off.
There's no way for mail carriers to win... These types of asshole dog owners who let their fucking mutts roam wild have a bitch fit whenever a carrier bypasses their house, or get violent when pepper spray is used. They always say dumb shit like "the dog won't bite", as if they can guarantee that.. and if it does bite, half the time the homeowner is piss poor and can't even be sued. The post office also tells the carrier they will not cover the injury because the carrier should not have put themselves in danger. How about fucking keeping your dog tied or inside for the whole 5 seconds while the mail is delivered?
Avoid the house, and some trash bitches and gets violent about not receiving 1200 dollar stimulus checks... Go to the house, and some filthy violent out of control dog bites, WTF is a carrier supposed to do? Fucking disgraceful.
