Nobody believed me when I severed a tendon in my finger and how I couldn't bend it anymore. Went to the doctor by myself a few days later and was scheduled for surgery the next day. Now I have a perma-bent finger with a gnarly scar.

Reminds me of when I broke my wrist. My mom didnt believe me bc i wasnt crying (despite not being allowed to cry) EVEN THOUGH I COULD FEEL THE CRACK IN MY BONE so she didn't take me to the doctor for 5 months. I spent like 2 years in a brace and had to have extensive testing done on my wrist. Almost 10 years later and it almost constantly aches

Same, sort of...

Me, 18 years old.

Stomach distended to the point people were regularly asking me if I was pregnant, but was hard (like a solid dad bod belly, without the hair).

Mom kept telling me I was just getting fat, so I starved myself to the point of losing around 40lbs and becoming malnourished. Stomach still distended.

Older sister came home for a visit, because Mom was telling her I was pregnant and on drugs (virgin, never touched so much as a cigarette) and she was worried about me (she's amazing like that). She gave me one hug and knew immediately something was wrong. Begged mom to take me to Dr. Mom refused because I wouldn't just admit I was pregnant, said I could just deal with the consequences of my choices.

2 weeks later, crawled out of my bedroom in the worst pain of my life. Mom took me to ER, sat for 10hrs listening to her tell me It was just cramps and telling nurses I was probably knocked up. Still not seen after 10hrs, gave up and went home

Next day, pain was worse. Called an ambulance. Literally only one ultrasound later, and they were prepping me for surgery.

Ovarian cyst took over my rt. ovary. Dr. removed 9 liters of fluid, and my ovary. After surgery I weighed 108lbs.

She, to this day, denies she ever said I was pregnant and knew all along it was something more, just that she was waiting for me to make the call to go to the doctor.
