It's a lot easier to blame somebody else than to accept the fact that actions have consequences and you're a shitty person who needs to work on yourself.

There was a whole thread in dank memes about how bad it is for people to get in trouble over old racist shit. I’ve been on the internet since getting aol cds in the mail. I don’t have rants of racist shit, or choreographed videos being racist. It’s so easy not to be racist.

Unpopular Opinion (In America): This whole "ruined my life" stuff is probably garbage. I strongly suspect that if you're not a celebrity, and just the Barbecue Becky of the month, your life will be just fine in 6 months to a year. We hear of people losing their jobs, being expelled, that sort of thing, but honestly, how long does that last? Take these kids. They're famous now, but in a year, who is going to remember them? You're telling me that they aren't going to be able to transfer their credits over to another school and graduate after their expulsion? You're telling me that if they wait a year, the admissions counselor at some college is going to remember their names? Do YOU remember their names? Can you pick them out of a lineup right now? I saw the video, and I can't. It's going to be hot now, with media outside their door and death threats and all of that, but in a year, they'll be fine, and in five, they'll be a part of the professional workforce. And if they haven't learned not to be racist, they will have learned how to hide it better.
