As of April 19, 2020, 12:00 GMT, New York City has reported 131,273 cases with 8,632 covi19 deaths.

According to the data 1,555 in 100,000 people have affected from Covi19 causing 102 deaths per 100,000 people.

New York City’s death per capita is on par with Italy’s Lombardy.

Lombardy reported 64,135 covid19 cases with 11,815 deaths. The region has 637 confirmed coronavirus cases and 118 deaths per 100,000 people.

New York state is one of the worst-hit states in US with 241,041 confirmed cases and 17,671 deaths.

New York State now accounts for 32.62% of Coronavirus Cases and 45.29% of deaths in the United States.

Experts familiar with vaccine production has already said it would take at least 12 to 18 months to get a vaccine.

Although human trials have already begun, experts are pushing for a safer vaccine, as it should not produce any side effects people who could possibly be cured without one.
