The millionaires on TV told me, "it will bankrupt the country, we have no way to pay for it."

"Tax" is legitimately a magic word in the minds of Americans. They'd rather pay a fee of $100 than a tax of $50. The right wing did an incredible job making taxes seem like tyranny. When what matters is what you do.

A union has strength through collective bargaining. A single employee threatening to leave is weak, the entire factory threatening to leave has power.

The government can collectively bargain for us in the exact same way so we can have cheaper drug prices and healthcare prices.

Big business wants to keep us divided and weak.

I honestly weep for the country, good things are JUST out of reach, we simply can't deprogram the decades of big business propaganda in such a short time...

Because it's from the wrong angle. Families are not the important party, 'business' is. S/B:

Business has to pay $20,000 a year per employee in premiums, plus brokerage fees to shop for a new plan every year, plus HR time to administer the plan every payroll, lunch for every employee during the annual benefits meeting, plus admin time to do secure data entry of every enrollment, every year?

Vs

Business pays Medicare tax which is presently downloaded into payroll software automagically instead of calculating premiums by tables. Does not have to mess with the hassle of stopping work to do annual enrollments. Does not have to pay a brokerage. Employee enrolls once per lifetime and no stupid forms every year.
