Yep,been making that point over and over to others in a more comfortable position, I had two jobs and two interviews a week before the isolation restrictions in the UK, now I have nothing and can get no benefits at all, good luck to you.
Calling employees heroes and essential to the economy and then paying them like shit with no health insurance. The CEOs refusing to give them hazard pay while making millions and hiding out in mega mansions - the hypocrisy is no surprise.
I’m currently home because I have a compromised immune system, and since I had to take unpaid leave voluntarily I don’t qualify for unemployment. My job is still technically there for me when all this ends, but I’ve already been off for 3 weeks and if it weren’t for my parents (who are much older and able to work from home) allowing me to move in with them when all this happened, I’d have to choose between homelessness and putting myself at constant life threatening risk. I’m happy I have the options that I have so I’m not going to starve, but I’m probably going to have to let my car and health insurances lapse because eventually I’ll run out of money.
