“Everyone gets so offended nowadays”

People were always offended. They’re just sick of putting up with it

Edit: I hate doing this, but I’m sick of these edgy kids filling my inbox. I’m personally not offended by comedians. I might find them unfunny and unimaginative, but I’m not offended. Just saying what I see in the zeitgeist.

Take your edgelord arguments about the state of comedy and tell them to someone else.

I always want to tell these fucks that it’s “the right to free speech” not “The right to never suffer consequences for your actions” or the “right to never be criticized.”

The rules for offensive comedy are pretty simple.

How funny you need to be is directly inverse to your target when making fun of something/someone.

Punching up is commentary, you don't need top tier comedy to speak to power.

Punching on the level is observation, if it is reasonably funny you'll land it.

Punching down is bullying, better bring the funny hard or it becomes mean spirited rather than funny.
