It's really crazy how many people were like "We can't tax the rich because then they wouldn't do PHILANTHROPY" and then the rich don't show up and perform philanthropy in a crisis. Hell, all of those people that pledged to help rebuild Notre Dame only did so for publicity, then didn't actually follow through.
