I always do matching digits. 1:11, 44, 55, 2:22 etc. It saves time, you don't have to move your finger, just push the same button 2 or 3 times. It's very efficient.
I learned the carousel in my microwave completes one revolution in 20 seconds. So I can put in a mug or anything with a handle and have it facing the correct position when it's done.

I gues I'm a Calvin Coolidge fan then, I only use the 30 second button. Even for popcorn, I just hit it 4 times.
