My wife helped an older woman at the shops and passed on her number as she was alone with her husband. She has called for a chat and asked for a few essential s delivered and is so grateful to have a real person to talk to after just seeing the news on the TV. It's humbling to see humanity pulling together reading other people's experiences, it's tragic that such an event was needed though.
When you adopt someone, it's likely they're adopting you too. I'm guessing this will be a mutually beneficial relationship. Be well, both of you. All of you.
