Who is fit testing these people? If your ppe is causing wounds, it's not being worn properly. It's not a matter of duration.

Source: have worn respirators for years, full face and half mask, with hazardous materials for many, many hours at a time.

Edit: too many people don't know what a fit test is. It does not mean custom fitted gear. A fit test does not mean luxury, expensive gear. It is an OSHA required test to ensure the off the shelf ppe is functioning properly for the worker and that the worker understands the ppe.

2nd edit: my comment is now buried in the chain, but originally, I stated these pics are becoming an internet trend or meme from China, Italy, and now the U.S. I know China doesn't have OSHA. I was very clear I was speaking of U.S. regs and proper donning of ppe.

3rd edit: for people saying "give them a break, they're doing their best". The problem is that ill fitting gear will cause wounds, sores, scabs, blisters, callouses - now the ppe won't fit at all. You've either guaranteed exposure or you've sidelined yourself for days.

4th edit: see this comment on current hospital conditions from a medical worker because it's good and doesn't deserve to be buried

Unpopular opinion. I think they have the straps too tight.
