I once used this argument when i discovered my elderly step-father was a Christian Zionist during a discussion we were having about Israel/Palestine.
We live in Washington state with a Indian reservation no more than five miles from where he owned his house. I asked how he would feel in the local Native and city governments jointly decided to take his property and give it to a local Native family because their ancestors once resided on the land.
He was genuinely flummoxed at even the suggestion that they had rights to it, and couldn't understand the analogy I was making in regards to the property rights of Palestinians. Hilariously, he said they could take it over his dead body.
American evangelicals only care about Jews having Israel because the end times can't start until the temple is rebuilt. There is a whole hastening the end times thing going on.
