I run a bookstore. Some of my distributors wrap new text in plastic so they can verify it is truly new when I return it for credit.
Not as bad as the apparel we sell still. Nike wraps each garment in a plastic bag with a plastic sheet between the layers of the folded item. 144 t-shirts? 144 plastic bags.
