My school tried to say they had to lock up my Epipen because ‘iT’s A wEaPoN!’
Needless to say a very sternly worded letter from my doctor solved that.
Oh and yeah severe tree nut allergy. I go from zero to can’t breathe in about 1 minute so it wouldn’t have worked had it been in the principal’s office.
Edited to add: this was back in like 1995 when Epipen’s were still pretty new-ish and schools were super resistant. When I also carried liquid benedryl good lord they lost their shit.

I remember I had bad asthma in elementary and if I needed to use my inhaler I had to walk halfway across the school to the nurses office
