I guess an historically accurate movie where the attackers just surround the castle until the main characters starve to death wouldn't have made good entertainment.

The town is probably burning, and arrows are flying everywhere with a few shots of arrows hitting civilians.
Bonus points if the arrow hits a mother, who's shielding her child.

Don’t forget that haunting music of one woman singing that comes on as all other sound gets muted when things get really desperate.
