Oh there’s more to it than that: while waiting for us to retire, they hand out our money from the Social Security Trust fund to defense contractors through cost+ no bid contracts, who “can’t be audited because it’s too much money to account for” and that’s why Social Security always appears to be on the brink of collapse.
They don’t plan to raid those funds; they already did it. The us government borrowed a trillion dollars from the social security fund to pay for the Iraq war. Conservatives don’t want to pay it back.
