They are only a scam if you buy them under the assumption they will somehow heal you. I buy them so my room smells fresh.

Essential oils do work- to a minor extent. They have no real healing properties, but certain types, like lavender, peppermint, and lemon can help with things like nausea.
Yes, I did a bit of research.
Do not depend on oils to heal you, though.
