One thanksgiving my wife spent all day making food for her family to join us. We live 2 hours away. 30 minutes before they were to arrive they called and said they weren’t coming because they were all sick. After a lot of discussion they decided that we could come see them if we wanted to. My wife being who she is packed up all the food, filled the car, and we drove 2hrs to their house to see them, in their pajamas, not sick at all. Worst thanksgiving ever. Fucking hate those people so much.
This is literally the worst feeling ever...We used to have a Bros-giving for our friends who had to work and couldn't travel out of town. I hosted one year but the day before everyone ended up either getting time off or their family surprised them. I just solemnly ate my turkey, scalloped corn, stuffing, and green bean casserole with a beer and sleep dessert...shitty shitty feeling
