Labs are prone to that sort of focus. As a handler you have to be really careful because they'll plow on despite issues. A friend had an incredibly well trained lab and we had to physically restrain her from continuing because she was getting cuts on her nose from the tulies hunting pheasants. Pretty much a bird hunting machine. God help you if you missed because she'd turn around pissed off and glare at you.
