Shit was so out of left field... It still feels weird

I hope this stays up. For a lot of us, Kobe was one of the first mega-stars that crossed all sports

As a kid playing basketball in Canada, I grew up idolizing two players: Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant. I tried my hardest to play basketball the way they did (obviously couldn’t because of how good they are). This is an awful day for sports

First reported by TMZ, then confirmed by Wojnarowski and LA Times. Just...absolutely shocked man.

update: TMZ is now reporting that one of Kobe's daughters was also on the helicopter and died in the crash.

update 2: Woj is reporting that they were on their way to a travel basketball game and the other victims on board include another parent and player.
