Man, this story hit all the feels this morning. Robert Whittaker is fresh off of losing his middleweight title to Israel Adesanya and had a huge fight lined up with Jared Cannonier that could have put him right back into the title picture with a win. Yet, he was forced to withdraw from the fight and many people, myself included, were a little bit down on Whittaker based on his injury history and pulling out of fights. However, all of that frustration went away and honestly turned into sadness for Whittaker. This story is a glimpse into the fact that despite these athletes entering a cage in their underwear to fight each other that at the end of the day they’re human beings.

God bless Robert Whittaker, his daughter and all of his family. Hopefully at the end of the year we’re watching Whittaker fight with his daughter cheering him on in the crowd while being fully healthy.
