I just left a side job over this exact thing. I told the manager that I was 100% not bringing a dr note for missing one shift over a minor stomach issue, and that it was absolutely absurd that that’s their policy when they offer no benefits. He said I had a ‘bad attitude’. I told him he would keep losing good people due to poor management.

Went to the ER last year because I thought I had appendicitis. Turns out it was just mega abdominal pain from a stomach bug. The doc gave me fluids and some stomach meds and I walked out with a 4K bill. I make my final payment next month. Insurance is a scam. Medical care is horrendous. It’s cheaper to die.

Last week I was told I had to have a doctor's note after not taking a single sick day for 6+ months. It cost me $150 to go to instacare so when the doctor gave me a note saying I would need to stay home for 4 days, you're damn right I took the full 4 days instead of the 1 I would have if I didn't have to have a doctor's note.
