You have a mission. Your mission is to ensure that your best friend has the best life you can give him. Even though it’s only a short life, if you get your bud to the end and he was happy every day of his life - you gave him the very best present any person can give another being.
You shouldn’t be sad he is gone, be happy you were there for him and was able to give him the best life he could ever have hoped for.
