I wonder how many of us have similar abilities and just don't know it? I'd love to see a large-scale study where people are tested for smelling 'illness'. Researchers would match positive responses to t-shirt owners and extrapolate from there. Could prove to be interesting.
This actually gets more interesting as it led researchers discover a protein produced by the body that could lead to even earlier detection of parkinsins that could be done with a simple swab rather than a blood test
