One-time when I was a kid my dad thought it would be a great idea to buy me a TV. I unwrapped it and was pretty happy about it. He then said I wasn't allowed to have a TV in my room, and that this TV would go in my parents bed room. I was stunned and just kinda laughed.
To this day I get him an extra gift ever year and tell him "oh wait, that one is actually for me"
I myself am just discovering the art of disguising gifts for yourself as gifts for your children. Like my daughter got a gaming headset, and my son got a much needed divorce from his mom.
