In The Lego Movie (2014) Benny the spaceman has a broken helmet. This used to happen to the original Lego pieces. Picture of my 80s spaceman to the right.
Man I miss those old 80's and 90's sets. Had two of those big old Tupperware plastic bins full when I was younger, house caught on fire (luckily we were out of town) and came home to two massive legos where everything had melted together. Destroyed 8yr old me seeing that at the time

And in the Lego sets that include Benny as a character, the helmet is molded as if it were broken, but it isn't.

The mold line on the helmet is where this typically used to happen; I remember the majority of my helmets had this happen to them when I was little
