Protesters break into Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s home and vow to ‘s*** in his pool’ over wildfire outrage – The Sun

A PAIR of would-be vandals have been arrested for tresspassing and 'threatening to s***" in the Australian Prime Minister's pool' as the raging bushfires ravaged the country.

A 33-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman streamed the act online last night before being arrested at Scott Morrison's suburban family home in Sutherland Shire, New South Wales.

Caitlin Cooper, 18, and Dean Fletcher, 33, bragged of their alleged crime on social media just hours after being released on bail.

The pair said they were invited to the PM's $920,000 house and were later filmed giggling, claiming they had 'put empty cans of drink' into Mr Morrison's recycling bin during the strange and deflated protest.

Fletcher said: "We were waiting to s*** in his pool for him to be there, but that didn't happen."

At the time of the protest Morrison was in Victoria visiting fire-ravaged towns.

Police confirmed two people had been charged with trespassing but no damage was done to the property.

Fletcher said "In the arrest report the police say 'the accused does not appear to feel any remorse for his crimes and in fact appears to be quite proud of his actions'.

"And never, never, have the police so accurately described me."

Fletcher added: "We assumed there'd be a police presence but the big thing was, Scott did invite everyone round to watch the cricket instead of paying attention to the bushfires."

"So it's not really our fault. Because we were there by invitation.

"We'll see how it holds up in court, but I don't think old ScoMo's got a leg to stand on.

"We took the Prime Minister at his word when he said everyone should be watching the cricket instead of paying attention to the devastation of the fires, even as he jams his hand into the face of people who don't want to talk to him.

"We were there to talk to him, we'd have shaken his hand, we'd have had a drink with him.

NSW police confirmed that the pair had been arrested for trespassing.

A spokesman said: "A 33-year-old man has been charged with enter prescribed premises of any person without lawful excuse and insight to the commission of crimes.

"The Woolongong man has been granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 13th February 2020."

The PM has had a rough week, being heckled and humiliated by angry residents and firefighters wherever he goes.

Mr Morrison, who was criticised for taking a family holiday to Hawaii as the crisis erupted last month, has never been so unpopular.

The right-wing PM was rebuffed as he tried to shake the hand of a firefighter and chased out of town by an angry crowd earlier this week.

During a stop in the town of Cobargo, 280 miles south of Sydney, Morrison approached a firefighter who was taking a break in an emergency centre and extended his hand.

"I don't really want to shake your hand," the firefighter said.

Morrison then leaned down and briefly grabbed the man's hand, but released it when he again declined.

He then told the man, "Oh, well, nice to see you", as he walked away.

He was later filmed talking to an official and saying: "Tell that fella I'm really sorry, I'm sure he's just tired."

The official responded: "No, no, he's lost a house."

Cobargo is one of the towns worst hit by killer blazes that have claimed at least 18 lives, razed 1,300 homes and businesses and destroyed nine million acres of land.

In the early hours of Tuesday, a father and son died defending their home in the town.

Morrison had earlier been met by a frosty reception elsewhere in the town.

One woman refused to shake his hand and said: "You're an idiot."

Another local shouted: "P*** off. You are not welcome. You won't be getting any voters round here buddy."

A woman also refused to shake his hand until he agreed to boost firefighting funding and cried out, "We need more help", as he walked away.

Others yelled that he "should be ashamed of himself" and called him "Scum-mo" for "leaving the country to burn" before he fled to his chauffeur-driven limousine.

Cobargo was hit by one out-of-control fire that roared into the community on New Year's Eve, with its main street bearing the impact.

After they were met with hostility and abuse yesterday, the Aussie PM and natural disasters minister quickly left the area.

They promised extra cash for fire victims in the devastated Bega Valley area soon after.

Speaking on Thursday Mr Morrison said the crisis was likely to last for months but urged people "to be patient".

It comes as authorities urged a mass exodus from several towns on Australia's southeast coast, an area hugely popular in the current summer peak holiday season, warning that extreme heat forecast for the weekend will further stoke the fires.
