I can't even imagine a world in which a thoughtful, intelligent person with a moral-compass in a position of leadership makes sound decisions on behalf of their country without prioritizing $$ above all else.
Our government claim we have no part to in climate change because we're only responsible for about 1.5% of carbon emissions...
...or about 10% if you factor in the coal we export to other countries...
...or about 15% if you factor in the coal we will export to other countries once the Adani mines open.
...or 17% once you add in our natural gas exports, too.
And that's what ScoMo is afraid of upsetting. It's why Tony Abbott's very first act as PM was to close the climate council, and why after eight years in power they're still promising that they'll one day have a climate policy that is well thought out, sensible and will fix the problem... they just haven't announced it yet.
