The whole Brokilon thing was easily the worst thing in the series. And it was pretty much the one part of the story that the writers completely changed and wrote themselves, and it sucked and made no sence and was completely pointless. They should've just kept it like it was in the books, no doppler, mousesack doesn't die, no elf boy.
In the books the Dryads would transform human girls into Dryads by making them drink the water of the forest. The water is a mutagen that's how they keep their numbers. The water also causes witcher's hallucinations as well as healing them. They also found out it doesn't work on Ciri
The forest bit didnt make much sense. Not sure what the point of that area was. Never read the books but judging by other comments here it seems they went off track in the forest.
