I worked in a hotel and we used to host a function for a religious group. They would come in like every 3 months, and goodness I always dread it. Entitled is the right word! Like ma’am we’re literally in a mass/dinner right now, why are you treating me like that?
Waited tables during high school and college and can confirm. They’re hands down the worst tippers and will run you to death. Oh and bonus, if they’re the ones with the kids that make an unholy mess while the parents blindly ignore them. You’re gonna earn that $1.22 tip.
There’s even a website devoted to this called Sundays Are the Worst.
Worked at a place with a $25/head Sunday brunch buffet. We figured out through trial and error that this was the magical price point that keeps the church folk away, but the reservations list still full.
