I will never understand people that get so upset when they find out other people don’t want kids. Who cares what their reasons are? It isn’t about you, doesn’t affect you, and it’s none of your business.
The most important thing about having kids is actually liking kids.
Yes, you should be able to afford them. But that is only the most preliminary check. Do you enjoy the company of your child? Do you treat them like a human being instead of a burden? Do you hang out with them instead of only spending a cursory amount of time with them? Or do you see them as a chore?
Children can pick up on the smallest things. And knowing that they are loved and wanted and that their parent is invested - is the most important thing.
