My boomer stepdad told me multiple times a week to just walk in and ask to talk to the head of the department.
I’m a teacher. It’s literally impossible to just “walk into a school” in Chicago. Because, you know, pedophiles exist.

You can apply for 100 jobs in 2 weeks and never get a single call back. Boomers don't understand it often takes them two weeks to even begin the paperwork to hire you.
