This is the Buttermilk Falls in Ithaca, taken last week. There are numerous falls and gorges around the Finger Lakes region of New York but this is one of the best.

For any geology nerds, Buttermilk Falls is part of the Genesee Group, in the glaciated section of the Alleghany Plateau. The formations you see are mostly shale, although there may also be some sandstone in the mix (see nearby Taughannock Falls, the state's tallest). The rocks date back to the Devonian period, and so are roughly 375 million years old. Cornell has some nice light reading on the topic: here and here
