Presidents have spoken at all kinds of colleges and never had to barricade students in their rooms before. I wonder why this one was different. ✊🏿

There is something extremely racist with going to a historically black college to deliver a speech about criminal justice and telling the majority black students to stay locked up in their dorms "for their safety".

The President delivered the speech Friday afternoon to a room that only included a handful of students. Benedict College Spokeswoman Kymm Hunter reportedly told the White House press pool that only seven students attended the speech, and CNN reports that Columbia’s Mayor Stephen Benjamin said the White House chose who else attended.

What a time to be alive.
