Gonna point out, there may be policies from Subway corporate forbidding this.
When I worked at Starbucks, we would occasionally run out of milk / a certain type of milk. There was a grocery store just down the street, but we weren't allowed to get anything from there, we had to go to the next nearest Starbucks to get milk.
So the Subway person might 100% agree with you but still have their hands tied.
