I was the 32 year old in a Freshman International Relations class. The kids that sat near me were all very nice and made it a lot easier to come to class.
One didn't know how old I was and when she found out she was mortified. She'd been talking about Tinder dates and whatnot for most of the semester (along with actual class information) with me and when she found out she said "I must sound so stupid most of the time!"
I quickly assured her that she didn't and, with me being married and gay, her Tinder stories were pretty refreshing.
Last year I went back to finish my last year of high school at the age of 21. I was so anxious about being the oldest person and being surrounded by kids. There was a fucking mid 50s man redoing his final year so he’d have a better understanding of the math he’d do by attending uni this year. Incredibly lovely and friendly man, was my best friend for that year,
