The amount of Conservatives in this thread unable to differentiate between a massive state-sanctioned foreign intervention in an election that included massive psy-ops and disinfo campaigns, astroturfing, hacking the servers of both main parties, and laundering millions into the Republican part through various Republican infastructure and a private citizen endorsing a candidate is ridiculous.

Being a head of state does not revoke your freedom of speech rights for life. You should all be embarrassed. This is incredible whataboutism, even by your normal standards.

I can hear a very loud and genuine 'thanks Obama' coming from the Liberal war room.

This is a big endorsement. Obama is highly respected in Canada, especially since Trump took over. People will sit up and pay attention to this. Even if their minds arent changed it will boost turnout, and volunteers will have a bit more spring in their step.

The threat of Trump getting jealous and endorsing Scheer also looms....

I was proud to work with Justin Trudeau as President. He's a hard-working, effective leader who takes on big issues like climate change. The world needs his progressive leadership now, and I hope our neighbors to the north support him for another term.

That's a pretty solid endorsement from someone who has worked with him and knows exactly what he has been working with in the US currently. It's nice to hear the international community still holds Trudeau in high regard.

Edit: Obama's speech in the house of commons back in 2016 is worth a watch. It's sad that these two didn't get to work together for long. Trump has really made a mess of things in his wake.
